Take Time To Save A Child:    The Genieve Shelter

THE STATE PROJECT/GFWC SIGNATURE PROJECT WORKSHOP AT CONFERENCE WILL PROVIDE UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT THE 2010-2012 GFWC VIRGINIA STATE PROJECT.   YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS "HUGS AND KISSES" AT THE OPENING SESSION!

Dr. Val Livingston, Executive Director of The Genieve Shelter, will be with us at Conference on Sunday morning. The Genieve Shelter serves the cities of Suffolk and Franklin, the Town of Smithfield and the counties of Isle of Wight, Southampton and Surry. Shelter services include: a 24-hour hotline; individual and group counseling; court accompaniment; emergency shelter, food and clothing; and emergency transportation. The Children's Program offers after school tutoring; weekly children's support group and recreational activities.  

Please support The Genieve Shelter and GFWC Virginia's Southside District by bringing items from the Wish List below to GFWC Virginia Conference 2010. Items will be collected at Registration.

  • Handheld Electronic Games with learning ability (Scrabble, Password, Math Wiz, etc.)

  • Board Games and Card Games for children of all ages (Shelter children range in age from infant to age17)

  • Nintendo DS Games (New and/or used. The Shelter has the game system, but needs games.)

  • School and Art Supplies (Markers, crayons, etc.)

  • Diapers ( all sizes) and Pull-Ups (for up to age 4)
