State Fair Program Registration Forms: Word PDF E-Form Chairman: Pat Reinders Virginia clubwomen will serve as hostesses for the State Fair of Virginia Educational Tours from October 1-3, 2008. This will mark our twenty-second year of service for this project. Nearly 10,000 elementary school students from all over the State are guided by clubwomen as they take in the sights and sounds of the Fair. We are counting on your support again this year to make this project a success!!! District Assignments Wednesday, October 1 – Tidewater (40), Alice Kyle (5), Blue Ridge (5) Thursday, October 2 – Lee (40), Northern (10) Friday, October 3 – Southside (40), Shenandoah (5), Southwestern (5) All volunteers receive free admission to the Fair on their tour day. Family and friends are welcome to volunteer with you. When your shift is complete, you may sign out and enjoy the Fair on that day. If you are unable to work on your district’s assigned day, we invite you to volunteer on another day. If you would like to volunteer on more than one day, we welcome your participation. Each volunteer will be mailed an information packet and parking pass, and on the day you volunteer, you will receive a special commemorative State Fair pin! Daily Schedule 8:30 – 9:30 am – Registration, Refreshments and Orientation 10:00 am – Shift begins. Tour facilitators should be in place 1:00 pm – All shifts end, sign out and enjoy the Fair Volunteer Opportunities Greeters: These individuals greet the school buses, give a brief orientation to the children and teachers, and see the group safely into the Fairgrounds. Tour Facilitators: These individuals will be stationed within one of the exhibits to explain the displays to the children, or along the tour route to help the groups find their way. This includes both indoor and outdoor positions. Volunteer Registration Volunteer position assignments are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and your flexibility and patience are greatly appreciated. Volunteer registration may be completed using the Volunteer Registration Form posted on the GFWC Virginia Website and published in the GFWC Virginia Yearbook, or by completing the Volunteer Registration E-Form. The Registration Deadline is Monday, September 22, 2008. Don’t miss this special opportunity to combine fun and service.
